Fourteen people lost their lives when a jet-powered drone hit the platform at Dnipro railway station on October 29. The strike occurred while a train traveling from Dnipro to Zaporizhzhia was parked nearby. Fourteen others were injured in the blast. Six of those injured, including an 11-year-old boy, remain in serious condition.
Russian forces also targeted residential areas in two other cities that same day. In Kremenchuk, Poltava Oblast, a drone struck an apartment building. Three people died and 15 were wounded. Three of the injured were children. In the central part of Chernihiv, the attack killed two 15-year-old girls. Twenty-three others were injured, including four children and a 10-month-old baby.
Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the President's Office, posted a statement on X regarding the attacks. He described the mass killing of civilians on streets and in residential buildings as Russia's arguments in negotiations. He stated that Russia showed how it feels about ending the war. Budanov said that for every victim in Ukraine, Russian defense industry facilities must burn. He argued that Moscow's ability to wage aggression must be destroyed by the military strength of Ukraine and its partners.
Budanov called on Ukraine's partners to give Russia a fitting response to what he termed daily terror. He noted that the free world must respond to the strikes with real strength. He emphasized that only the combined military power of Ukraine and its partners can stop the daily loss of life caused by bombs, drones, and missiles in the heart of Europe.
