The White House confirmed on Monday that President Donald Trump will speak at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington. This announcement follows comments the president made to reporters on Sunday while deplaning from Air Force One in Iowa.

Trump stated he intended to use the location to "show how beautiful it is." He initially suggested the event might occur the next day but did not provide a specific time. Hours after those remarks, the administration formally set the date for Monday afternoon.

According to people familiar with the plans, the address will serve as a "closing argument" regarding the upcoming midterm elections. Trump is also expected to discuss his renovation projects in Washington, D.C., and the reopening of the Reflecting Pool. This venue selection marks a shift from the president's recent campaign strategy.

For the past month, Trump has held more than 25 rallies in largely conservative areas. The White House aims to leverage this national stage to counter low approval ratings. Polls currently suggest that the Iran war, high energy prices, and rising living costs could favor Democrats on election night, according to the Associated Press.

The Lincoln Memorial site offers a visual backdrop that differs from standard rally grounds. The Reflecting Pool recently underwent maintenance work. Trump's team views this location as a way to connect infrastructure improvements with the electoral message.

This event represents one of the final opportunities for the president to address prospective voters directly. The speech concludes a period of intense campaigning focused on suburban and rural districts. Officials expect the gathering to draw a large crowd from the D.C. area.
