Lincoln Park woman seeks help recovering stolen Chucky doll

Denice Greer woke up to a dragging sound and found her front yard missing a centerpiece of her annual decoration. The theft occurred around 7 a.m. on Sunday in Lincoln Park, Michigan. Surveillance footage captured a person lifting the animatronic Chucky doll and placing it into a red Dodge RAM pickup truck.

Greer has lived in the neighborhood for nearly 20 years. She described the incident as the first time she felt her property was violated. The doll is valued at $300. She filed a police report with the Lincoln Park Police Department to document the loss.

The display serves a specific role in the community. Greer decorates her lawn to create a space for neighborhood children. She noted that the figures provide a sensory experience for kids with various needs. One neighbor mentioned her autistic son enjoys watching the display daily. Other children who are blind or deaf visit to touch and feel the decorations.

Greer emphasized that the project is intended to strengthen the close-knit feel of the area. She enjoys the interactions with neighbors who stop by to thank her. The theft removed an item that brought these residents together. She asked potential witnesses to look at the surveillance video for the suspect or the red truck.

Greer appealed to the thief to consider the impact on the children who look forward to the display. She stated that the doll is not just a personal item but a shared neighborhood asset. She hopes the return of the figure will restore the Halloween atmosphere for the next few days of the season.

Anyone with information about the theft can contact Lincoln Park police at 313-381-1800. The investigation is ongoing as officers review the footage. Residents in the area are encouraged to check their own dashcam or doorbell records from Sunday morning.
