Seventy-seven horsepower. That is the output of the supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine Ram is installing in its new 1500 SRT Rumble Bee performance truck. The vehicle is scheduled to arrive in 2027 as part of a wider class of full-size pickups that includes two complete redesigns and three models with meaningful updates.

Chevrolet is the first major brand to overhaul its lineup this cycle. The 2027 Silverado 1500 retains its current exterior shape but swaps in new powertrains. Buyers can choose from a 402-horsepower 5.7-liter V-8, a 481-horsepower 6.6-liter V-8, a 350-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder, or a 305-horsepower diesel six-cylinder. The diesel engine offers the best fuel economy in the group. Depending on the configuration, the new Silverado can tow up to 13,700 pounds and carry a payload of 2,340 pounds.

Inside the cab, Chevrolet has added up to 60 inches of screen real estate and new driver-assistance technology. The truck will be sold in regular, extended, and crew cab styles across seven trim levels. The price starts at $41,395, a figure that includes destination charges.

Ford is updating its F-150 with a new standard engine. A turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 replaces the previous 2.7-liter V-6. Ford states the new engine delivers peak torque sooner than the old unit, which should improve acceleration from a standstill. The optional 5.0-liter V-8 will also become more widely available. Ford is introducing a new F-150 Carhartt model based on the XLT trim, featuring rugged interior materials. Lower-priced versions of the Tremor and Raptor off-road models are also returning. The BlueCruise hands-free driving system now functions while towing, matching the Super Cruise technology found in Chevrolet and GMC trucks. The estimated starting price for the 2027 F-150 is $40,500.

The 2027 GMC Sierra 1500 shares its platform and powertrain options with the Silverado. It offers slightly lower maximum towing and payload capacities but targets the premium market with unique exterior and interior details. Both trucks offer a three-screen dashboard setup that includes a 12.2-inch driver display, a 16.3-inch center touchscreen, and an 11.5-inch front passenger touchscreen. An optional Multi-Flex center console can be configured as a flat surface for laptops or meals. The Sierra starts at $51,295.

Ram is launching two distinct versions of its 1500 for 2027. The Rumble Bee is a performance-focused truck with a wide-body design and on-road handling priorities. It offers three V-8 engine options, including the 777-horsepower supercharged unit. Ram quotes a top speed of 170 mph for the SRT Rumble Bee. The SRT TRX returns to the lineup after a brief hiatus. It also uses the 777-horsepower V-8 and gains a reworked suspension and a plusher interior. The Ram 1500 starts at $45,370.

Toyota is updating the Tundra with sharpened styling and a new Honeycomb color for the TRD Pro off-road model. The company is also introducing the Trailhunter, a model designed for overlanding. It features all-terrain tires, a tuned suspension, underbody skid plates, and a low-speed cruise control system for trail driving. The 2027 Tundra includes a next-generation infotainment system with a standard 14-inch touchscreen and improved driver assistance detection. The estimated starting price is $44,000.
