The Wayne County soccer club known as Chaos Soccer has stopped operating.

Sources told Local 4 that the organization is closing its doors entirely. Kyle Lesperance, a coach for the club, is stepping away from all roles within the organization. His wife, who also held a position with the club, is leaving as well. No other family members plan to remain involved in the program.

The closure follows a suspension issued by the U.S. Center for SafeSport. The suspension was listed on October 22, 2026. It stems from an alleged texting relationship between Lesperance and a minor. The specific violation involved a text message sent to a player without another adult included in the conversation, as required by the Michigan State Youth Soccer Association Code of Conduct.

Lesperance was investigated in Brownstown Township in 2025. Prosecutors denied charges at that time. In January 2025, Grosse Ile Township Schools said it was aware of allegations involving a club soccer coach and a player who was not a Grosse Ile student. The school district stated the individual resigned from coaching before the district became aware of the specific allegations.

The current suspension restricts Lesperance from coaching outdoor soccer. He is still permitted to attend games and coach indoor soccer. The suspension is subject to appeal. In a letter sent to parents over the weekend, Lesperance stated that the suspension applies specifically to outdoor soccer under MSYSA. He noted that he cannot serve as a team official or coach during games but can still organize and manage the tournament in an administrative capacity.

Lesperance and his wife wrote in the letter that they are working through the appeal process. They said they do not anticipate a quick resolution. The letter acknowledged that the suspension is for a communication policy violation. They stated that they will not engage in public arguments or respond to rumors. They encouraged parents to reach out directly with questions.

The couple had recently been involved in the Terror Island Invitational. That event took place in Grosse Ile from October 23 to 25. Lesperance’s wife was listed as the 2026 Tournament Representative for the event on the Chaos Soccer website. The letter said that every team would be covered during the tournament weekend. They stated that priority was given to coaches already familiar with the players.

Local 4 reached out to Kyle Lesperance to confirm the information independently. The station had not heard back as of publication. The letter signed by Lesperance expressed disappointment in the decision. He wrote that coaching is about building relationships and helping kids grow. He said the commitment to the club has not changed.

The sources said the club ceased operations because of the suspension and the subsequent departure of the coaching couple. The closure means the program is ending. There are no plans for the family to remain involved in any capacity.

The suspension is currently active. Lesperance is barred from coaching outdoor soccer. He can continue to coach indoor soccer and attend games. The appeal process is ongoing. The club is closed. The parents were notified via letter over the weekend.
