The United States is repositioning military assets in the Middle East as preparations for potential combat operations against Iran advance.

The Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday that a Patriot air and missile defense system is moving from Texas to the region. The system includes radar equipment, an engagement control station, missile launchers, and interceptor missiles. This transfer aims to bolster American defenses should the situation escalate. Officials familiar with the logistics stated that US troops have also been moved from bases considered vulnerable to Iranian attacks.

Washington has warned several Gulf Arab countries to prepare for a short and intense military campaign. This potential engagement is scheduled to begin after the November 3 midterm elections. US forces are currently replenishing munitions stockpiles. Bomber aircraft and fighter jets are being readied for possible strikes on Iranian infrastructure and nuclear facilities.

Naval logistics indicate a significant increase in regional presence. An additional aircraft carrier strike group and a Marine Expeditionary Unit are expected to join roughly 20 US warships already in the Middle East in November. Some vessels may rotate out of the area during this period. This buildup follows an earlier directive from October 1, when a US official announced the deployment of the USS Theodore Roosevelt and additional Marine personnel.

President Donald Trump has not finalized a decision on launching a new campaign. He is reportedly leaning toward strikes on Iranian infrastructure and nuclear facilities, though a negotiated agreement remains a possibility. Iran has threatened to widen retaliation if the US and Israel resume attacks. Targets cited by Tehran include energy infrastructure, airports, and other civilian facilities across the Persian Gulf.

US intelligence officials warned on Friday that Iranian efforts to target Americans have intensified. Secretary of State Marco Rubio received a memorandum detailing these plots against American officials and citizens. Tehran has also reportedly urged Hezbollah to raise its readiness for renewed conflict. Two diplomatic sources said on October 15 that Iran instructed the Lebanese group to prepare for further American military action.
