The Washington Commanders defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 27-10 on Sunday night, ending a six-game losing streak for the visitors and securing their first victory since early October. The win capped a second half in which Washington scored 27 consecutive points after falling behind 10-0 in the opening quarter.

Jayden Daniels threw for 217 yards and a touchdown to lead the Commanders' offense. This marked his first win as a starter since defeating the Los Angeles Chargers on October 5, 2025. The quarterback played without wide receiver Terry McLaurin, using the game to build chemistry with other targets while Washington's defense held Philadelphia scoreless for the final three quarters.

Philadelphia quarterback Tanner McKee threw for 212 yards without a touchdown in his third start of the season replacing the injured Jalen Hurts. The Eagles' offense stalled early, with their longest drive before the final sequence of the game covering just 52 yards. Washington's pass rush recorded five sacks against McKee and forced one interception, limiting the Eagles to 268 total yards.

The Commanders struggled with discipline in the first quarter, committing multiple penalties that allowed the Eagles to take an early lead. Saquon Barkley ran for a 3-yard touchdown to put Philadelphia ahead 10-0. Washington responded with a 56-yard field goal by Drew Stevens late in the quarter and an 8-yard touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs in the second quarter to take a 13-10 halftime lead.

Washington coach Dan Quinn acknowledged that the team needed time to adjust after a bye week. He noted that the squad took a moment to warm up before finding its rhythm. Cornerback Trey Amos said the defense made necessary adjustments after a slow start, eventually executing a plan that held the Eagles at bay for the rest of the contest.

The Eagles' Jake Elliott attempted to cut the deficit in the fourth quarter but missed a 41-yard field goal after an illegal formation penalty forced a retry. Philadelphia finished with 91 rushing yards, with Barkley carrying 13 times for 30 yards. Safety Michael Carter suffered an abdominal injury for the Eagles, while Commanders running back Jeremy McNichols left the game with a left foot injury.

The Commanders remain two games behind the New York Giants in the NFC East standings. The Eagles are currently in last place in their division. Both teams will play on the following Sunday, with Philadelphia hosting New York and Washington hosting the Los Angeles Rams.
