Woodridge voters will choose a new DuPage County sheriff and decide on a gubernatorial rematch on Tuesday.
The 2026 General Election takes place on November 3. The ballot includes the race for Illinois governor, U.S. Senate seats, and several county offices. DuPage County residents must select between Democrat Peter Coolidge and Republican Sean Noonan for sheriff. Neither candidate will remain in the role if they lose. Republican James Mendrick, the current sheriff, decided not to seek a third term after failing to secure the Republican nomination for governor. The primary race for sheriff featured Eddie Moore, the undersheriff, who lost to Noonan amid questions about past incidents involving a car crash and a bar fight.
Statewide races also appear on the Woodridge ballot. Governor JB Pritzker seeks a second term against Republican Darren Bailey. In the U.S. Senate race, Democrat Juliana Stratton contests Republican Don Tracy. Kwame Raoul, the incumbent Attorney General, faces Bob Fioretti. Alexi Giannoulias, the current Secretary of State, runs against Diane Harris. Margaret Croke challenges Bryan Drew for the Comptroller position, while Michael Frerichs faces Max Solomon for Treasurer. Two congressional districts include Woodridge. The 6th District features a rematch between Conforti and Casten. In the 11th District, incumbent Democrat Bill Foster faces Republican Jeff Walter.
Several DuPage County government offices are up for election. Incumbent County Board President Deb Conroy, who won her four-year term in 2022 as the first female chair, faces Republican Gary Grasso. County Clerk Jean Kaczmarek defends her seat against Paula Deacon Garcia. Treasurer Gwen Henry runs against Yeena Yoo. The 18th Judicial Circuit includes two judicial races. In the fourth subdistrict, incumbent Democrat Judge Christina Kye faces Republican Michael W. Fleming in a contested race. Two other judges in the circuit face retention votes.
Voters can cast early ballots at DuPage County locations. Early voting began on October 19. Hours run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays. Additional locations opened on October 21 with expanded hours. Residents may vote at any polling place within DuPage County limits.
Mail-in voting required an application by October 29. Ballots must be postmarked or placed in a drop box by November 3 to count. The Woodridge drop box is located at the DuPage County Athletic Recreation Center at 8201 Janes Ave. It operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through November 2. Envelopes are collected daily and sent to the County Clerk’s Office.
Polls open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day. Voters must be U.S. citizens at least 18 years old by Election Day and have lived in their precinct for at least 30 days. Online registration closed on October 18. Those who missed the deadline can register in person at the county clerk’s office, early voting sites, or their polling place on Tuesday. In-person registration requires two forms of ID, with at least one showing a current address.
